We would have had to miss seeing the lakes otherwise, due to time constraints, which would have been a great pity... luckily we discovered this transfer the day before, and were able to adapt our plans accordingly. However... it is a long walk, and although it does come with a warning for the less fit and able... it'd be even more wonderful were there some means of taking a short-cut, rather than the whole "four hour hike", even if it did mean missing out on a small portion of the tour. Our tour guide was lovely, knowledgable, and had a great command of the English language (some guides can speak it well, in a tutorial way, but cannot converse in it!). It's really nice to be able to ask questions etc. Gray Line need to push this means of getting from Split to Zagreb (and reverse) through more advertising avenues. I fluked coming across it, only the day before. Not just in Croatia (where I assume they possibly to a Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar trip similarly) but on other similar long-haul routes, that have a wonderful UNESCO diversion that could be incorporated.

They didnt actually take me all the way to Zagreb as no bus was coming from that direction to take me there after the visit. Gray Line told me the day before that they could leave me at the lakes and i'd finish with public transportation. They gave me some money back and helped me with the logistics of it all. The journey was good and quite smooth.

We left on time and everything single detail was taken care of, such as luggage and transfer of bus. The visit to the park was amazing and the guide was thoughtful and accommodating to everyone’s needs and pace. Absolutely a wonderful excursion. I highly recommend it.
