I took 3 tours with grayline. First tour was from Bucharesti, romania to Tsarvets and rock monastery in Bulgaria on 4/7/24. The guide was very helpful, knowledgeable, and answered questions. He explained about the locations and gave us free time to explore the locations more. His lunch recommendation (Ego in veliko) was excellent but it was a little difficult to find at first. The second tour was to Dubrovnik with Peter on 4/17/24. He was funny and informative. He gave us a 40 min tour through the city and then gave use the rest of the time to explore the city with some recommendations. We also stopped at Ston for oyster/muscle tasting. It was unique but I'm not used to oysters that are that fresh. The third tour was also with Peter 4/18/24 to Platvice lakes with a transfer to Zagreb afterwards. It was a very beautiful place but you must be ready for a little hiking. We had a short rest in between the 2 sections of the park. Afterwards we had a late lunch nearby with good food. Overall the tours were a great choice for day trips with knowledgeable guides. 1

Itinerary

This exciting journey will lead you towards Dubrovnik and its fortified Old Town which is, without doubt, one of the most visited and photographed destinations in all Europe. You will start your tour in a very comfortable air-conditioned bus, so just sit back, relax and enjoy the view at the breathtaking Mediterranean scenery. Based on the previous agreement with the driver you can stop to stretch your legs and take some fantastic photos.

After arriving to Dubrovnik, one of the most outstanding tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, you will meet your local guide and start an hour and a half long walking tour through the narrow streets of the historic core of Dubrovnik. Explore this amazing UNESCO World Heritage site and learn everything about its history and monuments. Dubrovnik is famous for its wonderful Renaissance and Baroque architecture, red brick roofs and its two kilometres long walls that have successfully resisted attacks of different enemies through the centuries. Explore the Old Town's central street Stradun, the Franciscan Monastery (with one of the oldest pharmacies in the world), the Renaissance Rector's Palace, the town walls, the Lovrjenac Fortress, and many picturesque squares and churches.

After the walking tour with the professional local guide, you will have enough time to continue exploring Dubrovnik on your own. Make the most of your free time and stop by one of the local restaurants to taste some delicious traditional food. It's not a bad idea to take a ride on the cable car to the top of the Srd Mountain and enjoy the breathtaking view at Dubrovnik and its surroundings. You can also go to the local beach and take a quick swim or buy tickets for the Walls and take a look at the city from a completely different angle. Since you have approximately four hours of free time, be sure to plan your activities before the trip since it is impossible to do all listed above.

After this perfectly well spent a day in Dubrovnik, you will get back on the bus and start your journey back to Split. You will be dropped off at the same point where you were picked up.

Just don’t forget your camera; Dubrovnik is incredibly photogenic!
